Charles E. Steffey Senior Counsel at Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner, is a registered patent attorney practicing in the areas of patent and trademark prosecution, opinion drafting, and technology licensing. His primary technological areas of practice are electronics, integrated circuit design and fabrication, imaging, magnetic head suspensions, medical technology and exercise equipment. He received his BSEE degree from the Case School of Engineering of Case Western Reserve University where he was a member of Eta Kappa Nu, and his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law. He worked as a Systems Engineer and as a corporate lawyer at Honeywell and was responsible for oversight of all Honeywell intellectual property and products liability litigation. Chuck served as a partner in patent boutique firms for a dozen years, prior to establishing an intellectual property prosecution group at Faegre & Benson, where he practiced for more than ten years. Prior to joining Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner, Chuck was Vice President and General Counsel of NordicTrack, Inc., where he handled all intellectual property prosecution, licensing and litigation as well as handling products liability matters and general corporate issues. Chuck is currently responsible for the Trademark and PCT International patent prosecution practice areas of the firm, managing paralegal teams in the US and India.
