Matthew L. Prater has been prosecuting patents with Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner since 2003, and has experience with mechanical technologies and non-logic based electrical technologies, primarily in the automotive and medical industries. Prior to attending law school, Matt worked as an engineer in the fluid power industry, designing and supporting the production of hydraulic piston pumps. Matt also has experience working in the automotive industry, having worked in Detroit to research and design prototype electrical systems for automobiles. Matt has worked with wire harnesses, junction blocks, flexible circuitry, and connectors. Matt received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, cum laude, from Michigan Technological University in 1998, where he focused on the vibrational dynamics of mechanical systems (NVH), and was a member of the Pi Tau Sigma honor society. Matt obtained a J.D. from the William Mitchell College of Law in 2005. He is licensed to practice in Minnesota.
