Wendy Thai Minneapolis, Minnesota
Wendy Thai is an associate whose practice includes prosecution and opinion work in the areas of biotechnology, molecular biology and pharmaceuticals. Wendy completed her Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Microbiology in 1992 at the Department of Biological Sciences, University of Alberta, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Wendy earned her Ph.D. from the University of Alberta in 1998. Wendy's graduate work utilized molecular biology, enzymology and microbiology techniques to create mutated strains of the antibiotic-producing bacterium Streptomyces clavuligerus with a goal toward better understanding of the physiological role of the B-lactamase Inhibitory Protein in this important industrial organism. Wendy also conducted postdoctoral research in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Alberta. Her postdoctoral research involved the use of biochemical and immunological techniques to examine the key events involved in immune cell activation. Wendy received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2005. While in law school, Wendy was a member of the Minnesota Journal of Law, Science & Technology (staff member, 2003-04; managing editor, 2004-05).
