- Ann McCrackin will be speaking at the Practicing Law Institute's Patent Prosecution Workshop in New York City, November 13-14, 2006. She will be speaking on "Advanced Claim Drafting Issues" as related to Electronics/Computers. - Warren Woessner spoke on the evolution and application of the doctrine of equivalents at ACI's 5th National Patent Counsel's Forum on Freedom to Operate, September 18-19, 2006 in New York City. Additional information about the conference can be found at www.americanconference.com.
- Suneel Arora spoke at the Midwest IP Institute in Minneapolis on September 25th on "Opnions of Non-Infringement."
- SLW was at the Silicon Valley Association of Startup Enterpreneurs' event, "Capitalizing on Emerging Markets and Technologies" on June 1, 2006. The panel discussion explored current trends and future predictions on markets and technologies and featured Andre Marais as the moderator. For more information, please see www.svase.org.
- SLW hosted a delegation from the European Patent Office on June 8, 2006 in San Jose. Along with a German patent litigator, the delegation consisted of the director of the department of Patent Search, Examination and Opposition dealing with applications of the technical fields of Data Communication, Internet Applications, Networking and Telecoms, along with five patent examiners of that field.
