Geoffrey Cooper is a registered patent attorney practicing in pharmaceuticals, organic chemistry, and biotechnology. He received a B.Sc. in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Oregon, and a J.D. from the University of Oregon. After postdoctoral work on medicinal chemistry with Prof. Henry Rapoport at Berkeley, he spent over twenty years as a senior level researcher in organic chemistry with major corporations including ITT, Arco, and Zeneca before attending law school. After graduation, he spent over two years as an associate with the Portland, Oregon, patent law firm of Birdwell & Janke. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the States of Minnesota and Oregon, the U.S. District Court for Oregon, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Dr. Cooper is a member of AIPLA, and the Minnesota State Bar Association.
