Kevin Greenleaf’s practice includes patent procurement, post-grant proceedings, portfolio analysis, technical analysis, and strategic counseling, with emphasis on computer architecture, software, circuit design, semiconductors, and microelectronic fabrication.

Mr. Greenleaf began his legal career in-house by determining the value of patent portfolios. He now applies his in-house skills by preparing reexamination requests and providing technical analysis. As part of SLW’s post-grant team, Mr. Greenleaf manages all aspects of preparing, prosecuting and analyzing post-grant proceedings.

Mr. Greenleaf speaks at and participates in professional associations, such as IPO, AIPLA, and the ABA. He currently develops ABA policy and implements various programs as the vice-chair of the ABA’s patent system policy planning committee. He previously served as the chair of the ABA’s post-grant proceedings subcommittee, where he helped develop the ABA’s comments on the PTO’s proposed rules for post-grant proceedings.

Mr. Greenleaf enjoys working with clients to develop and obtain patent rights. Having worked on examiner interview programs for PLI and AIPLA, he has evidence that early interviews can reduce prosecution costs. Helping businesses obtain and protect intellectual property is a fulfilling part of his practice.

Mr. Greenleaf was at Intel Corp., the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturer, for several years as a senior component design engineer. At Intel, he gained technical skills by working in engineering teams developing cutting-edge computer architectures and protocols.
