Nicholas received his B.S. in chemical engineering (2000) and his M.S. in organic chemistry (2002) from the University of Minnesota, his law degree (J.D., 2005) from William Mitchell College of Law, and his Ph.D. in organic chemistry (2009) from the University of Minnesota with Prof. Wayland E. Noland. After receiving his Ph.D., he worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Minnesota before joining the firm in December 2009.
