Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner focuses on strategic patent portfolio planning and management, infringement, validity and clearance investigations, opinions and all phases of intellectual property prosecution practice. This includes preparation and prosecution of patent applications, appeals, re-examinations, interferences and foreign oppositions. SLW cooperates with and advises clients' litigation firms regarding their intellectual property litigation. In this fashion, SLW is able to provide its clients with a realistic appraisal of litigation risks and can better fulfill its mission of providing the highest quality corporate IP services available.
The skills of the firm's intellectual patent attorneys span the full gamut of technologies, from genetic engineering to pharmaceutical chemistry, from integrated circuit fabrication to high-speed RF electronics, from database management to parallel processing, from implantable medical devices to robotics, optics and beyond. About thirty of the firm's attorneys work in the electrical arts, about twenty work in the computer software arts, and about fifteen work in the mechanical arts. Approximately fifteen attorneys work in the biotechnology arts, and about ten attorneys work in the chemical arts and material sciences. Some attorneys work in more than one technology sector.
