Overview

Jacob Eisenberg is a senior IP lawyer and experienced Head of Intellectual Property with over 13 years’ experience leading the IP function for a number of Fortune 500 and DAX 30 companies.

A graduate of New England Law, Jacob has now lived in Europe for 20 years. Jacob has been responsible for developing and implementing global IP strategies; leading teams of IP professionals located in Europe, North America and Asia; generating global portfolios of patents, trademarks and licenses; overseeing due diligences, risk management assessments, multi-jurisdictional patent and trademark litigations; and directly representing in-house clients before the USPTO, EPO, EUIPO and DPMA.

After studying physics at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Jacob was drawn to patent law because of the appeal of technology. “I always found new technology exciting,” he explains. “I enjoy and am amazed by innovation generally and the intersection of technology and law in particular.” He excels at getting to the heart of new inventions. “Intellectual property work can help protect innovation while generating real measurable value for its owner,” he continues. “Patents can be a benefit to a company’s bottom line, as well as a mark of achievement that is deeply and readily understood by many. Indeed, they help celebrate what inventors have accomplished.”

One of Jacob’s favorite aspects of his career is interacting with people. “I really enjoy inventors’ enthusiasm and just generally connecting with clients,” he describes. “I like to understand the driving force behind an invention and appreciate the team excitement in bringing something new, valuable and beneficial to market.”

Outside of work, Jacob enjoys spending time with family, cooking and staying fit. He is always intrigued by a good book or interesting movie.
