Jessica Gutierrez Alm is a registered patent attorney at Schwegman Lundberg & Woessner. She works directly with clients to develop tailored and focused domestic and international patent strategies. Jessica works with inventors in a variety of technological fields, including for example heavy equipment, medical devices, medical imaging, unmanned aerial vehicles, laser diodes, computer data storage, and computer software. In addition to patent preparation and prosecution, Jessica’s experience includes IP licensing and assignment agreements, due diligence for corporate mergers and acquisitions, and freedom to operate analyses. Jessica also has experience with Post Grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and in patent litigation before United States District Courts.
Prior to law school, Jessica was an Airport Design Engineer, designing improvement projects for airports throughout the southwestern United States. Jessica draws on her engineering experience to clearly articulate the nuance of her clients’ inventions.
Minnesota Super Lawyers has recognized Jessica as a “Rising Star.” She has also been recognized as a “North Star Lawyer” by the Minnesota State Bar Association for her pro bono work.
