Jingyuan Nan is an attorney in the Silicon Valley office of Schwegman Lundberg & Woessner. Her practice focuses on computer and software-related intellectual property matters, including the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications across a wide range of technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence, telecommunications and messaging platforms, e-commerce systems, social media and augmented reality, marketing technology and data analytics, IoT and fleet management technologies, semiconductor and wireless communication technologies, media and entertainment content distribution, aesthetic medicine technologies, cybersecurity and data backup systems, wellness and scheduling platforms, blockchain and cryptocurrency infrastructure, and payment processing technologies.
Jingyuan counsels clients on strategic portfolio development and product protection, works closely with startup companies to formulate patent strategies and identify key areas for patent pursuit, and manages domestic and international patent portfolios. She also supports patent litigation, including analyzing patents and scientific literature and advising on technology-related issues, and has experience conducting freedom-to-operate analyses and evaluating competitor technologies.
She is also a member of the firm’s China Practice Group, advising U.S. and international clients on IP issues and strategies in China. Her prior experience includes IP cross-border licensing, portfolio management, IP due diligence for corporate mergers and acquisitions, data privacy counseling on a global scale, and regulatory compliance counseling related to game publishing in China.
