In more than three decades as a patent attorney, Sanders Gwin’s career has included serving as principal at two other law firms and being a senior intellectual property counsel at a large corporation.  Mr. Gwin’s practice is primarily focused on client counseling, patent prosecution, and infringement and invalidity opinions in the technical areas of chemical and materials, life sciences, medical devices, and mechanical devices.  Mr. Gwin served as a patent law expert (Ecolab, Inc. v. FMC Corp., (D. Minn. 2007)), and has been counsel in patent litigation, both in U.S. District Court and at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (FilmTec Corp. v. Hydranautics, (Fed. Cir. 1992)).  From 1989-1990, Mr. Gwin served as a law clerk in the chambers of Senior Circuit Judge Edward S. Smith at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
