Discover Resources for Women Entrepreneurs at March 3 Symposium

Have you ever wondered what resources are available for women entrepreneurs and inventors? At the Women’s Entrepreneurship Symposium at the USPTO, distinguished speakers will provide a wealth of information about this topic. The event will be held on March 3 at USPTO headquarters in Virginia. If you will be in the Twin Cities, you can attend a live feed on the University of Minnesota campus.

This U of MN live feed will be located in Room 235 of the McNamara Alumni Center, 200 SE Oak Street, Minneapolis. It is free and open to the public, and will begin at 1:45 p.m. (CST) on March 3. This presentation will be hosted by the University of Minnesota, the Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association, ChIPs, and Schwegman Lundberg & Woessner, P.A.

Even if you are not starting a business yourself, and even if  you yourself are not an inventor, this symposium can help you understand the needs of the small inventor looking to capitalize on her ideas. Schwegman principal Theresa Stadheim explains, “Events such as this help you realize the challenges entrepreneurs may encounter. They help you understand the perspective of inventors who may or may not have support from large corporations in implementing their ideas. This gathering could also help connect you with the University of Minnesota’s efforts to help encourage inventorship and entrepreneurship among women.”

The schedule for the U of MN live feed is:

1:45 p.m. (CST) –  Panel Discussion: Connecting Entrepreneurs to Resources and Support

2:45 p.m. (CST) –  Panel Discussion: Developing a Network for Success

3:45 p.m. (CST) –  Closing Remarks

4:00 p.m. (CST) – Networking happy hour at Stub & Herb’s

Theresa continues, “Even if you can’t attend the entire symposium, feel free to come to the networking event afterwards.” The Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association and Schwegman Lundberg & Woessner will co-host a happy hour at Stub & Herb’s. Located at 227 SE Oak Street in Minneapolis, Stub & Herb’s is a short walk from the McNamara Alumni Center.

Attending this event is an opportunity to gain advice from industry leaders – and meet others with similar interests. Registration is preferred. If you cannot attend the live feed, an online Livestream is also available.
